RexCat is a method to add auto-localization ability to
ARexx scripts.
It consists of 2 new functions, ready to be pasted in
your own scripts, and a tool (MakeRexCat.rexx) which
create/update translation files for them.
RexCat is NOT a catalog compiler for binary applications.
The catalog file used by RexCat also end with a
".catalog" suffix, but it is a specific text files that
can be interpreted by ARexx.
RexCat also support IFF catalogs and can create a Catalog
Description file and a Catalog Translation file. (You
still need a catalog compiler to build the IFF catalog.)
(RexCat replace the maketls tool which was not released
as standalone but included with some ARexx applications.)
Included catalogs:
french : Philippe "AmigaPhil" Duchenne - ATO France
dutch : Johan Banis - ATO Nederland
italian : Simone "Tuxedo" Monsignori
german : Dirk Neubauer - ATO Germany
Horst Schumann - ATO Germany (proof-reading)
spanish : Javier de las Rivas - ATO Spain
Included guide:
english, french (partially translated)
Included bonus:
RexCat.sd : a source descriptor for FlexCat.
sprintf.rexx : sprintf() function for ARexx scripts.
What's new:
v2.3: Fixed SD bug.
v2.2: When updating a Catalog Description (.cd), the strMin
and strMax values were not preserved. - Fixed.
When scanning a source script for strings to translate,
any function name ending by 'tls' was misinterpreted
as the tls() function to check. - Fixed.
When using either MakeRexCat, MakeCD or MakeCT
(AmigaDos scripts), the last selected source file is
now remembered for a time (-> ENV:RexCatLastSrc).
RexCat catalogs now have a $VER string.
