NoWB allows you to boot your system without the loading of any programs
in the 'WBStartup' drawer. It's useful when you want to save memory and also
load the WorkBench.
I decided to do this, since every time I selected 'Boot With No
Startup-Sequence' on the Early Amiga Startup screen and typed 'LoadWB' on the
CLI, the OS load every program I had on the 'WBStartup' drawer as usual, which
some of them asked for some stuff on the ENV: and T: devices (which are not
mounted at this moment, of course 8) )
New on v2.0:
· Now everything is done automatically on booting by it. You just have
to hold down the right mouse key until some color stripes appear
on the screen, meaning that the WBStartup drawer is "disabled"
· The old Shell mode usage from the 1.0 version is still available
· There's no need to specify the seconds delay in order to get it
working on slow HD's anymore !!! Due to a cleaver programming,
you can have the world's slower HD and use my program nicelly;
Nice if booting from floppy (argh !)
· The conflict with the PFS file system was "solved". On v1.0 it
seemed to unvalidate the boot partition if was run from a PFS
boot partition ... I found it very strange, since NoWB only
does OS legal stuff (read AmigaDOS commands ;)
*Now* everything if working with PFS.
BTW: When testing v2.0 with PFS, I run again the v1.0 and this
time I didn't got *no problems* ... NoWB1.0 behaved normally
with PFS ! So I'm wondering if I really did a correct
installation of it by the time I tested with NoWB1.0 ...
Requirements
--------------
This program requires at least OS2.xx. Anyway, it would not be of any
use to users of previous OS, since the WBStartup thing was only implemented
on OS2.xx and above.
Also the DOS commands on C:
- CPU
- Setpatch
- Rename
- Wait
- LoadWB
- Execute
