AREA52
February 17th, 1995
These photographs were scanned tonight after completing the
construction of an AMIGA 4000T, based upon the Microniks riser
board and custom built case. This allows the A4000 to use up to
7 expansion cards at once and 10 drives.
The 7 cards may be any combination of 7 Zorro II/III cards, with
2 inline Video slots and 5 inline ISA slots (TBC's). Of the drives,
6 5.25" and 2 3.5" drives are exposed, while 2 3.5" drives are
hidden. All ports are accessible from the rear of the tower.
The AMIGA 4000T in question was constructed by David Tiberio,
Bob Dell, Mark Tiramani, and Mike Jaycox, with special thanks
to Mark for flying to Europe for required parts, and to Mike for
his mechanical expertise. Bob doesn't read any mail, so we won't
have to thank him for anything. :)
Also a great big thankyou to Manfred and the gang at Microniks
for their excellent REV 4.0 design which even Commodore UK has its
eyes on. The Microniks riser board proved to be the most valuable
component we have found in years!
And for you FLYER users out there, the boys in Topeka say that
NewTek strongly approved of the first A4000T we sent them... so look
for more A4000T systems with Microniks components!
